Job summary

Atoms is seeking a senior validation engineer focused on safety-relevant scenarios for its physical AI robotics platform. You will own the catalog, define safety criteria, and drive evidence supporting a cohesive safety argument across log-based and NCAP-derived scenarios.

You will build extraction pipelines, apply AI tooling to mining and categorization, and ensure rigorous human judgment and traceability in validation claims. The role is based in San Francisco with onsite work.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in safety validation, verification, or test engineering for automated vehicles or safety-critical domains.
• Hands‑on ownership of scenario catalogs and validated sufficiency.
• Experience with crash-avoidance protocols and ISO/SOTIF context.

Responsibilities

• Define and validate safety-relevant scenarios and build a comprehensive catalog.
• Mine fleet data to create parameterized, reusable scenarios and surface criticalities.
• Maintain and execute crash-avoidance protocol suites and evidence collection.
• Specify how scenarios run (resimulation, SIL/HIL, on‑road) and support the safety case.
