Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a senior software engineer specializing in target tracking and state estimation. You will architect and refine complex real-time systems, prototyping advanced algorithms for multi-sensor fusion.

The role requires deep mathematical foundations, production-grade Rust/Python skills, and experience reducing technical debt while delivering scalable, high-performance software for defense applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, or other technical field (advanced degree strongly preferred).
Experience refactoring legacy systems and managing technical debt in production environments.
At least 2+ years on a single codebase or product, with evolution of requirements.
Proficiency in Rust and Python with strong software architecture instincts.
Solid understanding of applied mathematics (linear algebra, optimization, probability, stochastic processes).
Familiarity with big data pipelines and NoSQL databases for large-scale sensor data.

Responsibilities

Define and influence the direction of a small team, leveraging expertise in target tracking and state estimation.
Architect, maintain, and evolve complex software systems, refactor for performance and scalability.
Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art tracking, sensor fusion, and estimation algorithms in agile environments.
Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time systems and simulations.
Design robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning for noisy sensor data.
Apply software design patterns to manage technical debt and guide production systems.
