Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a senior software engineer in Massachusetts to lead a small, high-impact team focused on target tracking, state estimation, and sensor fusion. You will architect and evolve complex systems, develop high-performance Rust for real-time use, and apply advanced probabilistic methods to noisy sensor data.

The role requires 8+ years of software experience, strong math background, and the ability to refactor legacy code while delivering production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience refactoring legacy systems and managing technical debt.
• At least 2+ years on a single codebase or product.
• Proficiency in software design patterns and scalable architectures.
• Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, Python, and Matlab.
• Strong applied mathematics background (linear algebra, optimization, probability).
• Experience with signal processing for sensor data (radar, lidar, EO/IR).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define and influence the direction of a small team, leveraging subject-matter expertise in target tracking and state estimation.
• Architect, maintain, and evolve complex software systems with refactoring for performance and scalability.
• Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, sensor fusion, and state estimation in agile environments.
• Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time systems, from tactical implementations to simulations and decision tools.
• Design and implement robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning for noisy sensor data.
• Integrate tracking and estimation into the software lifecycle from requirements through testing and optimization.
• Translate technical progress into clear insights for stakeholders.
