Job summary

Tenstorrent is seeking a highly capable runtime engineer to define the architecture and bring-up of the execution runtime across its custom silicon and accelerator IP. You will work at the hardware/software boundary to ensure efficient scheduling, synchronization, and resource management, while mentoring others and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role is hybrid and based in Toronto, ON or Austin, TX, with offers aligned to experience level.

Qualifications

• Expert C/C++ engineer with a track record of designing and delivering complex, performance-critical systems.
• Experience close to hardware in low-level, embedded, bare-metal, or accelerator environments.
• Strong runtime fundamentals including scheduling, synchronization, memory movement, and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Define the runtime architecture and implementation that controls execution, scheduling, synchronization, and resource management across the processor, accelerator, memory, and data-movement IP.
• Build low-level runtime components that initialize hardware IP, dispatch work to processor and accelerator engines, coordinate dependencies, and manage resources.
• Design runtime interfaces and data-movement paths for efficient memory access, synchronization, and execution.
• Analyze bottlenecks across the runtime and hardware/software stack, driving latency, throughput, and reliability improvements.
