Job summary

Tenstorrent is seeking an expert C/C++ engineer to work at the hardware/software boundary, defining how runtime software initializes hardware blocks, coordinates workloads, and enforces efficient execution across accelerators.

You will influence design choices, optimize scheduling and synchronization, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, compiler, and systems teams to deliver high-performance, reliable runtime software. This hybrid role is based in North America with flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Expert in C or C++ with hardware-aware design.
• Experience near hardware in low-level or accelerator environments.
• Strong runtime fundamentals: execution, scheduling, synchronization.
• Debugging and optimizing end-to-end across hardware/software boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Define the runtime architecture and implementation for execution, scheduling, synchronization, and resource management across Tenstorrent's CPU/accelerator/IP.
• Build low-level runtime components to initialize hardware IP, dispatch work, coordinate dependencies, and manage resources.
• Design runtime interfaces and data-movement paths for efficient memory access, synchronization, and execution.
• Analyze runtime and hardware bottlenecks and drive improvements in latency, throughput, scalability, and reliability.
• Engage with customers and field teams to guide runtime improvements while actively coding and debugging.
