Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on Ruby on Rails to modernize a legacy enterprise platform for government partners.

You will design, build, and deliver end-to-end systems with emphasis on reliability, speed, and security, while guiding best practices in architecture and code quality. The role involves collaboration across teams, agile delivery, on-call support, and potential involvement in hiring processes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and Typescript.
• Experience with web-based systems, front-end and back-end.
• Experience with large-scale applications and systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client services experience.
• Experience with automated testing.
• Experience designing scalable architectures.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision; able to work in a team.
• Experience with modern web development frameworks.
• Familiarity with code quality tools (Linter).
• Experience designing systems for high usage and intercommunicating front end and back end.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and build well-crafted software with Nava engineers.
• Collaborate with government partners and contractors to deploy new systems.
• Work in Agile to ship features meeting user needs.
• Create tools to automate development, testing, and production workflows.
• Write and review technical documentation and perform code reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems.
• Take part in hiring activities when needed.
