Job summary

Nava is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance end-to-end systems for government partners, focusing on Ruby on Rails and Typescript. You will participate in strategy, design, and post-production support, shaping scalable, secure, and user-friendly public services.

Remote-friendly with strong collaboration across teams and stakeholders. You will work in a fast-paced, minimally supervised environment, contributing to modernization efforts, and influencing architecture and deployment

Qualifications

• 12+ years of full-stack engineering experience in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to design and develop large-scale, web-based systems.
• Experience with modern web development frameworks and scalable architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client services experience.
• Ability to work with others on a team and self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Experience with automated testing and code quality tooling (Linter).

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and build well-crafted software with Nava engineers.
• Collaborate with government partners and contractors to architect and deploy new systems.
• Ship features in an agile environment that meet user needs.
• Create tools to automate development, testing, and production workflows.
• Write and review technical documentation and perform code reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems.
• Assist with hiring activities as needed.
