Job summary

Huntress is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Business Platform, focusing on Ruby on Rails backend development within a remote-first US team. You will design features for the Huntress Security Platform, drive technical vision, and collaborate across a diverse group of problem solvers to deliver reliable software at scale.

You will work with data-driven features, high-quality software practices, and a strong emphasis on secure, resilient design while mentoring peers and advancing AI

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing complex software products.
• 5+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong defensive coding skills with focus on secure, resilient design.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using AI coding agents to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects of feature development for the Portal, including UX/UI and API-focused work.
• Develop high-quality software, designs, and architecture; set team standards.
• Collaborate with Growth teams to build data-driven features and user flows.
• Translate acceptance criteria into functional workflows and data models.
• Oversee system lifecycle, evolution, configuration, and risk management.
• Ensure code quality and test coverage via reviews and plans.
• Lead team in accurate estimates and timely completion of work.
• Mentor engineers and foster professional development.
• Promote collaboration and engagement across teams.
• Lead by example and drive positive team culture.
• Build and evolve AI tooling in daily workflows.
