Job summary

Fresche Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior RPG Programmer/Analyst to support and enhance business-critical IBM i / AS400 applications. You will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.

Candidates should have hands-on RPG/RPGLE, CL, IBM i SQL, and Synon2/E experience, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and production support.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in IBM i / AS400 application development.
• Hands-on proficiency with RPG / RPGLE.
• Experience with CL and IBM i SQL.
• Working knowledge of Synon2/E (COOL 2/E).
• Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing client enterprise applications.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production support environments.
• Ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Ability to manage priorities across development, maintenance, and support activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support applications on IBM i / AS400.
• Work with RPG, RPGLE, CL, and IBM i SQL to enhance and support existing enterprise applications.
• Contribute to Synon2/E (COOL 2/E) components and modify existing code.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into practical solutions within client environments.
• Participate in the full SDLC, including analysis, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
• Collaborate with business users, developers, analysts, and support teams across initiatives.
• Support incident, change, and problem management processes.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or related field
