Job summary

DNV Energy Systems North America seeks a Rotating Machinery Senior Engineer SME to support advisory services across M&A, IE and OE. This role combines expertise in thermal rotating equipment and wind drivetrain systems to deliver decision‑grade insights for developers, owners, lenders and investors.

Based in a DNV Advisory office with a dynamic hybrid schedule (3 days in office or at client sites), you will lead equipment evaluations, perform RCA, contribute to technical reports, and mentor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering.
• Eight+ years in rotating machinery across thermal and wind.
• Experience evaluating equipment condition, performance, and reliability.
• Strong RCA and failure investigations experience.
• Familiarity with lifecycle risk and reliability principles.
• Willingness to travel up to ~20%.
• English written and verbal communication skills.
• Pre-employment drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead rotating machinery asset evaluations across thermal and wind.
• Assess asset condition, performance, and reliability.
• Perform RCA for rotating equipment failures.
• Support due diligence and engineering advisory work.
• Contribute to technical reports and client deliverables.
• Mentor team and build rotating machinery capability.
