Job summary

Citgo Petroleum Corporation in Lemont, Illinois seeks a Mechanical Planner to scope, plan, schedule, and procure resources for maintenance across routine, turnaround, preventive, and project work. The role focuses on coordinating tasks for rotating equipment and ensuring reliable plant operation on-site at the Lemont Refinery.

The candidate must hold a technical degree with refinery maintenance experience and be proficient in CMMS, planning software, and MS Office, with a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 2 years refinery maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Associate degree with 4 years refinery maintenance experience.
• High school diploma with 6 years related maintenance experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Proficient in CMMS.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC.
• Understanding the impact of procurement, scheduling, and field execution processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop job plans with detailed tasks and cost estimates including crafts, materials, tools, and contractors.
• Submit executable work for weekly and daily scheduling.
• Create Daily Mechanical Department Schedule with Supervisors based on weekly schedule.
• Create 1–3 week look ahead schedule for the Mechanical Department.
• Maintain equipment history, bills of materials, and task lists in CMMS SAP.
• Verify rotating equipment repair sheets are submitted and filed.
• Generate requisitions and bid requests for tools, materials, and services.
• Ensure cost-effective and expeditious completion of maintenance work.
• Close Work Orders/Notifications and initiate follow-up orders as needed.
• Support the yearly maintenance spending budget development.
• Manage backlog of planned/executable work with requesting departments.
