Job summary

FieldAI's Irvine team is building robust, field-ready autonomy systems for real-world industries. As a ROS Developer, you will design, implement, and optimize perception, localization, and control modules using ROS/ROS2 on production-grade software for challenging environments.

You'll integrate multi-modal sensors, develop real-time data pipelines in C++ and Python, and collaborate with perception engineers to deliver reliable autonomous robotics solutions on hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, robotics, or related field.
• Strong software engineering skills and production-quality robotics experience.
• Expertise in C++ and Python with ROS/ROS2 experience.
• Experience with localization, SLAM, sensor fusion, and navigation.
• Sensor integration with LiDAR, thermal, RGB, GPS, and IMU.
• Experience with real-time data processing and IPC/middleware.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ROS/ROS2 packages for navigation, mapping, and control.
• Integrate multi-modal sensors for autonomous missions.
• Build autonomy APIs for SLAM, path planning, and mission logic.
• Implement real-time data pipelines in C++ and Python.
• Collaborate with perception engineers on AI-driven decisions.
• Design and test autonomous behavior on real hardware.
• Troubleshoot systems at HW-SW interface and develop diagnostics.
