Job summary

FieldAI’s Irvine team is developing production‑grade autonomy software for real robots, applying ROS/ROS2 and a robust perception‑localization stack. As a ROS Developer, you will design, implement, and optimize perception, localization, and control modules, integrate multi‑modal sensors, and ship software tested on hardware.

You have a bachelor in CS/EE/Robotics, strong C++/Python skills, and hands‑on ROS experience; you will work with a world‑class team on challenging industries and field

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related technical field.
• Strong software engineering skills with production‑quality robotics experience.
• Expertise in C++ and Python with clean, maintainable code.
• Hands‑on ROS/ROS2 experience including building and deploying nodes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ROS/ROS2 packages for navigation, mapping, and control.
• Integrate and calibrate multi‑modal sensors (LiDAR, thermal, RGB, GPS, IMU).
• Help build autonomy APIs for SLAM, path planning, and mission logic.
• Implement and optimize real‑time data processing pipelines in C++ and Python.
• Collaborate with perception engineers to apply AI insights for decision‑making.
• Design and test autonomous behavior on physical platforms in field environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware‑software interfaces and develop recovery/diagnostics.
