Job summary

QXO is seeking a Roofing Estimator to turn plans and specifications into accurate material estimates for commercial roofing projects. You’ll support sales teams and contractor customers by identifying products needed for a complete roof system and by flagging gaps in project documents to prepare competitive quotes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial roofing estimating experience.
• Ability to read plans and specifications, complete material takeoffs, and recognize incomplete or inconsistent roof systems.
• Familiarity with commercial roofing manufacturers, products, installation methods, and warranty requirements.
• Experience with digital takeoff tools such as EDGE, Bluebeam, or PlanSwift, plus proficiency in Excel.
• Clear communication skills to explain estimates to sales teams, contractors, and partners.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents to determine project requirements.
• Perform digital material takeoffs and prepare timely estimates for commercial low-slope roofing projects.
• Identify components for single-ply, modified bitumen, and built-up roofing systems.
• Document assumptions, scope gaps, and warranty considerations before quoting.
• Collaborate with sales, project tracking, contractors, and manufacturers to address questions and clarify details.
• Maintain accurate project and estimate records and help improve estimating processes.
