Job summary

EchoStar is seeking a Senior Engineer to design and deliver Roku channel applications with high-performance C++/NDK/QT. You will architect responsive UIs, integrate RESTful APIs, and optimize playback across Roku devices while ensuring secure authentication and scalable data handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or related field with 4+ years in software design and development.
• Experience unit, functional, and regression testing using platform tools and logs.
• Strong background in memory management, performance tuning, and cross-device testing.
• Proven ability to design modular, maintainable code and participate in peer reviews.
• Experience with Agile software development and RESTful API integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Roku channel apps using NDK/C++/QT for high performance streaming.
• Architect responsive UIs based on design specs and platform guidelines.
• Design/integrate RESTful APIs for content delivery and metadata, with JSON/XML parsing.
• Optimize video playback, buffering, memory, and device compatibility across Roku models.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and commerce flows per Roku requirements.
• Develop automated unit/integration tests to ensure reliability and stability.
• Debug complex client-side issues using Roku tools and logging frameworks.
• Add analytics tracking, event logging, and observability for playback metrics.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical design discussions for quality.
• Support production deployments, certification, and post-release issue resolution.
