Job summary

EchoStar's DISH Technology team seeks a Principal Roku BrightScript Engineer to lead the Client Platform Engineering efforts across SceneGraph, DRM, and performance optimization for Roku-powered streaming apps.

You will translate reference implementations into production BrightScript code, establish automated quality gates, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-performance solutions for multiple hardware tiers.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
5+ years of BrightScript, SceneGraph, and Roku Channel Certification.

Responsibilities

Map production OTT modules to BrightScript equivalents, mitigating high-complexity risks in player state machines and DRM integration.
Design a scalable scene stack, routing architecture, and thread-safe task model for high-performance execution.
Enforce component library performance standards and focus chain integrity across dynamic application themes.
Integrate BrightScript linting, static analysis, and device benchmarking into the AI-assisted development pipeline.
Establish automated testing frameworks, deep-link automation, and headless performance benchmarks for strict launch time and memory targets.
