Roku, Inc. is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to help design and develop core features of the Roku OS application framework.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software using C++ and BrightScript, while focusing on performance and scalable architectures. The role involves debugging, data parsing, and API design, with a strong emphasis on memory management and multi-threaded development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/CE or related field.
• 5 years of progressive experience in the position or related occupation.
• 3+ years of embedded systems with Linux, C++, and Python.
• Strong data structures and algorithms foundation.
• Experience with Agile development and Jira.
• Designing complex software systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core features of the Roku OS application framework.
• Contribute to new software features and fix defects.
• Collaborate with Product Development, UI Design, Platform Services, and Release Management.
• Analyze user needs and debug issues with debugging tools.
• Develop software using C++ and BrightScript.
• Implement efficient parsing and rendering of data for Roku network.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve platform issues; use Jira for tracking.
• Participate in design discussions and build scalable solutions.
