Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a Remote Robotics Technician (US-based) to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve robotic systems used in real-world automation workflows. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, replace parts, calibrate sensors, and document work in service logs.

The role operates remotely in the US and requires coordinating with operations and engineering stakeholders to ensure uptime, reliability, and safety across multiple cell environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience maintaining or troubleshooting robotics, automation equipment, or industrial mechatronics.
• Strong electrical/mechanical diagnostics with meters and torque specs.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and service manuals.
• Experience with ticketing/work order tools and clear technical notes.
• Consistent adherence to safety practices and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service robotic cells and subsystems to meet uptime and throughput targets.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and sensor-related faults using structured diagnostics.
• Execute preventive maintenance plans: lubrication schedules, torque checks, and wear inspections.
• Calibrate sensors (vision, proximity, force/torque where applicable) and validate accuracy/repeatability.
• Replace components: motors, gearboxes, belts, bearings, encoders, cables, end effectors, safety devices.
• Support robot bring-up, commissioning checklists, and post-maintenance verification tests.
• Follow lockout/tagout, safety risk assessments, and site/customer safety standards.
• Capture evidence in service logs, work orders, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate spares usage and recommend stocking levels.
• Communicate recurring failures and propose reliability improvements using root-cause analysis.
