Job summary

Amazon Robotics is building a brand-new robotics manipulation platform, requiring a versatile software engineer to own critical software components from middleware to fleet management across fleets of thousands. You will work from real-time C++ on the robot to full-stack AWS applications, and apply generative AI to automate workflows.

This greenfield role involves leading multi-engineer projects, shaping architecture, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with robotics, hardware, and operations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Expert level skills in C++
• Experience working on software libraries and tools for building robot applications and/or communication middle-ware.

Responsibilities

• Design and own software components for robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management scaling to thousands.
• Lead architecture of the new robotics platform balancing real-time constraints with extensibility.
• Collaborate with robotics, hardware, and operations teams to define interfaces and delivery milestones.
• Apply generative AI to automate workflows and boost developer productivity.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions to raise code quality.
