Amazon Robotics is building a brand-new robotics manipulation platform and seeks a Sr Robotics Software Engineer to own core software components. You will work across robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management, collaborating with robotics, hardware, and operations teams to deliver integrated robotic systems.

Expect hands-on design, mentoring, and the use of generative AI to streamline development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Expert level skills in C++.
• Experience working on software libraries and tools for building robot applications and/or communication middle-ware.

Amazon Robotics is building a brand-new robotics manipulation platform, and we need a versatile software engineer to help bring it to life. In this role, you will own critical software components spanning robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management - systems that must work reliably for a single robot and scale to fleets of thousands. You will work across a broad technology stack, from real-time C++ on the robot to full-stack web applications on AWS, while applying generative AI to automate and streamline operational workflows.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, owning your projects from concept through production deployment. On a given day you might be writing real-time C++ for robot control in the morning, reviewing a teammate's AWS service design after lunch, and prototyping a generative AI workflow automation by end of day. You will regularly connect with stakeholders across peer robotics and operations teams to align on priorities, unblock dependencies, and share technical insights - while also carving out focused time for deep, head-down engineering work.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Experience with robotic motion control systems and algorithms.
• Experience with robotic operating environments like ROS.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
