Job summary

Amazon Robotics is building a brand-new robotics manipulation platform and seeks a Sr Robotics Software Engineer to own core software components. You will work across robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management, collaborating with robotics, hardware, and operations teams to deliver integrated robotic systems.

Expect hands-on design, mentoring, and the use of generative AI to streamline development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Expert level skills in C++.
• Experience working on software libraries and tools for building robot applications and/or communication middle-ware.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own software components for robotics middleware, health monitoring, and fleet management that scale from individual robots to fleets of thousands.
• Lead the technical design and architecture of systems on a new robotics manipulation platform, balancing real-time performance constraints with long-term extensibility and maintainability.
• Collaborate with peer robotics, hardware, and operations teams to define interfaces, resolve cross-team dependencies, and ensure successful end-to-end delivery of integrated robotic systems.
• Apply generative AI tools and techniques to automate workflows, improve developer productivity, and accelerate the team's ability to iterate on new capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on guidance, raising the overall quality and engineering practices of the team.
