Job summary

New Space Technical is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to develop robust localization and navigation software for autonomous robotic platforms operating in GPS-denied environments. You will work across simulation and hardware to design, implement, test, and optimize algorithms for reliable positioning.

The role requires 5+ years in Python and/or C/C++, experience with robotics systems, and familiarity with ROS/ROS2, Gazebo, and MuJoCo.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience developing software in Python and/or C/C++.
Experience developing software for robotic or autonomous systems.
Strong understanding of localization techniques such as INS, EKF, Factor Graphs or SLAM.

Responsibilities

Design and develop localization software for autonomous robotic platforms.
Implement sensor fusion algorithms using data from IMUs, cameras, LiDAR, odometry and other onboard sensors.
Develop and refine localization techniques for operation in GPS-denied environments.
Test and validate software on robotic hardware and within simulation environments.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate localization with autonomy, perception and navigation systems.
Analyse system performance and continuously improve algorithm accuracy and robustness.
