Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to build, improve and deploy a complete robotic system for real-world environments.

You will work across a broad robotics stack, including robot control, teleoperation, fleet systems and navigation, with hands-on coding and collaboration with hardware and systems engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in robotics, aerospace or another physical systems environment, with experience delivering software on real hardware.
• Strong C++ and Python skills with experience in ROS/ROS 2, Linux, Docker and modern software development practices.
• Strong experience with hardware-software integration, real-time systems and robotic sensors, including cameras, LiDAR, IMUs or force/torque sensors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production robotics software across control, teleoperation, fleet systems and navigation.
• Lead projects from technical definition through implementation, testing and deployment, working closely with hardware and systems teams.
• Build reliable ROS/ROS 2 systems, integrate sensor data and optimise software for real-world compute and hardware constraints.
• Diagnose issues on physical robots and contribute to engineering standards, testing, CI/CD and deployment practices.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to help build, improve and deploy a complete robotic system operating in real-world environments.

As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer, you'll work across a broad robotics stack depending on your experience and the problems that need solving. This could include robot control, teleoperation, fleet systems, navigation, sensors and robotics infrastructure.

This is a hands-on Senior Robotics Software Engineer role. You'll write and review code, debug physical robots and work closely with hardware and systems engineers to solve problems across the stack.

What You'll Be Doing
