Job summary

1X is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to build scalable robotics production systems for our NEO family. You’ll own machining, assembly, inspection, and validation processes, bridging design and manufacturing to deliver robust, repeatable high‑quality hardware as we scale production of humanoid robots.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting precision mechanical or electromechanical products.
• Experience with CAM programming, fixture design, tooling development, and precision machining processes.
• Strong understanding of DFM and production process development.
• Experience integrating electromechanical assemblies into production environments.
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, CMM inspection, and precision measurement techniques.
• Experience collaborating with design engineering, quality, production, and supply chain organizations.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, PLM systems, ERP systems, and manufacturing documentation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release manufacturing processes for high-quality components and assemblies at scale.
• Improve cycle time, first-pass yield, and process reliability.
• Design and deploy fixtures, tooling, CAM programs, inspection methods, and automation solutions.
• Support NPI programs from prototype builds through production ramp.
• Establish and maintain process controls, quality metrics, and documentation.
