Job summary

Symbotic seeks an experienced Manufacturing/DFM engineer to define and implement advanced manufacturing strategies for robotics and automation systems. You will collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and lead the seamless transfer of new products into production.

You will drive DFMA analyses and manufacturing readiness reviews for all new product introductions, while overseeing tooling, capital investments, and performance optimization through FEA and tolerance analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong foundation in mechanical/electrical design principles.
• Experience with designing and integrating robotics, automation, or material handling is preferred.
• Knowledge of PLM systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement advanced manufacturing strategies for robotics and automation systems that improve scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and lead the seamless transfer of new products into production.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and manufacturing readiness reviews for all new product introductions.
• Oversee management of tooling and capital investments to support growth.
• Perform analysis, including FEA and tolerance analysis, to optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, controls, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and product success.
• Identify and troubleshoot design challenges, implement effective solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Clearly communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and a culture of learning.
• Up to 25% of travel may be required.
