Job summary

Dexterity, Inc. in Redwood City is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Architect to define and scale our hardware stack. You will establish architecture to drive standardization, modularity and design for manufacturability across multiple products.

Lead hardware roadmap, mentor teams, collaborate with software and mechanical engineers, and ensure reliability, cost targets, and regulatory compliance through DFMEA and V&V processes.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in ME/EE
• 15+ years of related work experience
• Experience with designing complex robotics systems
• Hands-on mechanical design using 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
• Experience with electrical systems design & integration
• Hardware/software interfaces for architecture decisions
• Experience designing end effectors / grippers for industrial use
• Familiar with Product Life Cycle & supply chain from concept to mass production
• Familiar with using PDM/PLM systems
• High level of technical writing proficiency (specs, test plans, reports, white papers)

Responsibilities

• Lead technical roadmap development for company’s hardware
• Lead hardware architecture design to maximize reusability across applications
• Lead research of new materials, components, technologies
• Oversee hardware block/sub-block diagrams for reuse and maintainability
• Collaborate with peer architects to deliver simplified, differentiated hardware solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet specifications and regulatory requirements
• Modularize existing product designs
• Conduct design reviews
• Support hardware requirements, DFMEA, DFx activities and vendor interactions
