Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking an experienced roboticist to build and maintain a production-grade robotics platform integrating autonomous systems, teleoperation, and fleet coordination. You’ll contribute across robot control, teleoperation interfaces, motion planning, and distributed systems in real-world environments.

The role requires leading teams, delivering production-grade software for real hardware, and deep expertise in C++, Python, Linux, and ROS/ROS 2.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering, including 3+ years in robotics or real-world systems
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering production software for real hardware systems
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
• Experience with containerised deployment (Docker)
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time control systems and hardware–software integration
• Strong understanding of Git, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with sensor data pipelines (stereo/RGB cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, force/torque sensors)
• Experience with ROS / ROS 2
• Strong Linux development experience
• Nice to have: experience profiling and optimising C++/Python systems
• Nice to have: robotics simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim)
• Nice to have: low-latency networking for teleoperation
• Nice to have: background in perception or SLAM
• Nice to have: startup/R&D mentoring experience
