Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking a robotics software engineer to contribute to autonomous platforms used in live industrial environments. You will work with experienced engineers on developing capabilities, improving performance and ensuring reliable operation on real hardware.

You will develop with C++ and Python, test navigation and perception, and deploy software across fleets, with hands-on access to hardware, sensors and embedded systems. Experience with ROS 2 is valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, projects, competitions).
• Working knowledge of C++ and Python, Linux, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robotics software using C++ and Python for navigation, mapping, localisation, perception and autonomous behaviours.
• Test and improve robot navigation and obstacle avoidance in dynamic environments.
• Build tools for remote monitoring, operator assistance and recovery when robots encounter issues.
• Integrate robotic systems with external software and task-management platforms.
• Package and deploy software across robotic fleets and support commissioning and testing at customer sites.
• Take features from development through validation on physical hardware.
