Hadrian in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage the Autonomous Factory Systems team. You will build and mentor a robotics-focused group responsible for perception, planning, and control, and you will stay close to technical work to guide strategy.

This role emphasizes people leadership—hiring, onboarding, career growth—while coordinating with hardware, controls, product, and operations to translate business priorities into a roadmap.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of engineering management experience leading robotics, autonomy, or other complex technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, grow, and retain top engineering talent.
• Fluency in robotics concepts (perception, planning, behaviors, control, collision avoidance) to guide direction without being the architect.

Responsibilities

• Own the people leadership of your engineers: hiring, onboarding, mentorship, career growth, and performance.
• Build a hiring engine for robotics talent—define the bar, run strong interviews, recruit across perception, planning, behaviors, and control.
• Ensure engineers are engaged, growing, and set up to do their best work; assess team health and address issues early.
• Influence technical direction and headcount planning in close partnership with engineers and leads.
• Partner with Hardware, Controls, Product, and Operations to translate priorities into a roadmap and ensure resourcing.
• Improve engineering practices and lifecycle: planning, design reviews, code reviews, testing, simulation, deployment, on-call, incident response.
