Job summary

This on-site Torrance-based role focuses on designing and deploying AM cell automation, with safety architecture and NFPA 484 compliance.
The position supports FAT/SAT, reliability programs, and continuous throughput improvements across multiple Hadrian deployment sites, with up to 25% travel and ITAR
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 4+ years designing, deploying, and sustaining automation solutions in production manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with industrial robotics, material handling systems, and machine-tending automation.
- Demonstrated competency in machine safety per ISO 12100 and ISO 13849, including safety interlock implementation.
- Experience commissioning automation equipment and executing structured acceptance testing.
- Willingness to work on site in Torrance, CA and travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and commission automation for AM cell workflows—powder handling, build plate exchange, depowdering, part removal, and post-processing logistics.
- Own the safety architecture for AM cell automation—risk assessment, guarding, presence sensing, E-stop and interlock logic.
- Engineer automation around powder safety per NFPA 484, inert gas handling, and grounding in coordination with EHS.
- Define automation interface requirements—mechanical, electrical, and data—and ensure representation in OPUS.
- Partner with Hadrian Automation team on interfaces, handoffs, and roadmap; prefer vendor equipment over custom builds when fitting.
- Execute FAT/SAT for automation equipment and define performance criteria tied to cycle time, throughput, and reliability.
- Own reliability and maintenance programs for automation systems—preventive maintenance, spares strategy, root-cause analysis.
- Identify bottlenecks to improve throughput and machine utilization using manufacturing data.
- Document and standardize cell automation for redeployment to additional Hadrian factories.
