Job summary
MSD in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking an experienced automation software engineer to design and program high-performance robotics automation and inspection systems for automated reagent dispensing and micro-fluidic assays.
You will work with cross-functional teams to enable new product development and scale existing manufacturing lines, including hardware and software configuration, validation, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field required.
- 3 years working experience in automation equipment software design.
- 3 years programming experience using C# .NET in agile teams.
- Prior experience with machine vision and image processing preferred.
- Experience with XML, SQL, industrial networking, communication protocols, GUI design and database management preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new programs to control manufacturing and R&D equipment and maintain existing programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale automation and expand manufacturing capacity.
- Configure, validate, and troubleshoot automation software.
- Produce and maintain requirement and technical documents including release notes and work instructions.
- Participate in design and code reviews and milestone reviews.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to source equipment and components.
- Support new product development based on research and analysis.
