Job summary

Meso Scale Diagnostics (MSD) seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to design, source, build and test automated assembly equipment for biodefense, clinical and life-science markets. You will plan, schedule and control automation projects, and mentor Automation Engineers and Technicians.

Requirements include a STEM degree or 8+ years in automation, plus hands-on experience with robots, PLCs, machine vision and CAD (SolidWorks). This role is based in Gaithersburg, MD in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8+ years in automation engineering.
• 5+ years in automation equipment design, design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience specifying and integrating robotics, PLCs, machine vision and sensors.
• 3D CAD modeling with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test automation equipment including robotics, vision and sensors.
• Plan, schedule, and control automation projects.
• Mentor and supervise Automation Engineers and Technicians.
• Conduct performance reviews and document evaluations.
• Extend existing systems for new production capabilities.
