Job summary

Meso Scale Diagnostics, LLC. in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to design, develop and test automation equipment for biodefense, clinical and life-science markets.

You will plan and control automation projects and mentor engineers to drive product development from prototype to manufacturing. The role requires 5+ years in automation design and strong PLC, robot, and machine vision experience; SolidWorks CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 8+ years experience may substitute.
• 5 years in automation equipment design, DFA manufacturing.
• Experience specifying and integrating robots, PLCs, machine vision and image processing.
• 3D CAD modeling with SolidWorks is required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test automation equipment including robotics, controls, fluid handling, machine vision and pick-and-place systems.
• Mentor and supervise Automation Engineers and Technicians; conduct performance reviews.
