Job summary

Yaskawa/MotoSim is seeking a Robotic Automation & Weld Programmer to lead offline CAD-to-path simulation and multi-axis YRC1000 programming in a Duluth, MN region. Role involves heavy MIG welding, fixture planning, and floor support for a robotics shop.

You will optimize welding parameters, troubleshoot cell automation, verify AWS-compliant welds, and mentor operators. Requires 3+ years in robotic welding with U.S. work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Verifiable background setting up, operating, and programming robotic weld cells (Yaskawa/Motoman YRC1000 experience valued).
• Proficiency with offline simulation packages for virtual path generation (Robotmaster, MotoSim).
• Strong knowledge of heavy-plate MIG welding and blueprint reading including weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Execute Offline CAD-to-Path Simulation: develop, simulate, and proof collision-free offline programs using Robotmaster or MotoSim for complex weldments.
• Optimize Welding Parameters: fine-tune robotic travel speeds, torch angles, wire feed rates, weave patterns, and arc voltages.
• Troubleshoot Cell Automation: resolve multi-axis robot motion faults, seam-tracking errors, and hardware communication issues.
• Verify Weld Quality & AWS Compliance: inspect welds to ensure conformance with blueprints and AWS standards.
• Train & Mentor Cell Operators: support production operators with fixture loading sequences and setup procedures.
• Maintain Robotic Welding Equipment: oversee maintenance on robotic arms, torch liners, tips, wire feeders, and anti-spatter stations.
