Job summary

Stratus, in partnership with Stewart Engineering, is seeking an experienced Roadway Project Manager in Raleigh, NC. You will lead planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, directing roadway design teams and coordinating with clients to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The role requires at least 8 years in roadway design, a BS in Civil Engineering, and a PE license, with experience on arterial roads, interchanges, bridges, and rail crossings.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience with roadway design.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Experience with transportation projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete roadway, traffic management, pavement marking and signing designs that are responsive to project needs including the production of plans, quantities, cost estimates, construction administration and final specifications
• Develop project workload and complete initial review of engineering drawings and specifications
• Conduct field observations and data collection activities
• Coordinate preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas
• Coordinate design development and provide technical direction to the scope of projects; provide senior-level technical expertise on projects
• Development of project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates
• Analyze technical problems and devise new approaches and alternative solutions
• Coordinate work with Manager, Transportation Design and guide personnel on design and drafting
• Maintain quality standards and review designs performed by others
• Manage projects by coordinating with the client and directing the design team
