Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. in Alabama is seeking a Roadway Project Engineer to design and prepare plan sets for urban streets, rural highways, bridges, sidewalks and interchanges. You will be responsible for technical design and delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that impact communities.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with project teams, clients and review agencies to resolve challenges, and participate in on-site visits as appropriate while applying ALDOT policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years of roadway design experience.
• Registered PE.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• ALDOT policies and procedures experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in project scope, budget and schedule development.
• Supports PM providing technical knowledge on various projects.
• Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
• Mentors and reviews work of technicians and more junior staff.
• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to help resolve challenges.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.
• Conducts on-site visits, as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as requested.
