Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks a motivated Roadway Project Engineer to join our Alabama team to deliver infrastructure solutions across urban and rural roadways, bridges, sidewalks, interchanges, roundabouts and intersection improvements.

The role involves design, plan-set preparation, and collaboration with clients and review agencies. A PE license is preferred, with pluses for OpenRoads expertise and ALDOT policy familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years of roadway design experience.
• Registered PE.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer a plus.
• Experience with ALDOT policies and procedures a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in project scope, budget and schedule development.
• Supports PM providing technical knowledge on various projects.
• Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
• Mentors and reviews work of technicians and more junior staff.
• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to help resolve challenges.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.
• Conducts on-site visits, as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as requested.

What we're looking for

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Roadway Project Engineer to join our growing team in Alabama. In this role, you will take an active part in delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that directly impact the communities we serve. You will be responsible for technical design and preparation of plan sets for a variety of roadway project types including urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks and trails, complex interchanges, roundabouts and intersection improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assists in project scope, budget and schedule development.
• Supports PM providing technical knowledge on various projects.
• Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
• Mentors and reviews work of technicians and more junior staff.
• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to help resolve challenges.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.

Education & Experience Qualifications
