Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks a motivated Roadway Project Engineer to join our Alabama team to deliver infrastructure solutions across urban and rural roadways, bridges, sidewalks, interchanges, roundabouts and intersection improvements.

The role involves design, plan-set preparation, and collaboration with clients and review agencies. A PE license is preferred, with pluses for OpenRoads expertise and ALDOT policy familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years of roadway design experience.
• Registered PE.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer a plus.
• Experience with ALDOT policies and procedures a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in project scope, budget and schedule development.
• Supports PM providing technical knowledge on various projects.
• Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
• Mentors and reviews work of technicians and more junior staff.
• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to help resolve challenges.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.
• Conducts on-site visits, as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as requested.
