AtkinsRéalis in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer II to join our Roadway Practice to support the delivery of highway projects. You will plan, design, and produce engineering drawings and may supervise drawing production while contributing to data collection and feasibility studies.

The role requires a BS or MS in engineering, 8+ years of highway/roadway design experience, a Colorado PE, and proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoad Designer; AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.

  • 8+ years of engineering experience.
  • Must have highway/roadway design.
  • Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license required; additional state PE recommended but not required.
  • MicroStation and OpenRoad Designer experience required.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus but not required.

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer II to join our Roadway Practice in Denver, CO to support the delivery of various Highway and Roadway projects.

Your role
  • Performs and assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings. May supervise the production of these drawings. Carries out specific assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
  • Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
  • Participates on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications; assists in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observes relatively simple construction procedures and collects samples for quality control testing.
  • Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
  • Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
  • Performs engineering calculations.
  • Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
About you
  • BS and/or MS in Engineering.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience.
  • Must have highway/roadway design.
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project financial management and team management skills.
  • DOT experience is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Colorado PE required. Additional state PE licensure recommended but not required.
  • MicroStation, Open Road Designer required.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D recommended but not required.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $110,000 - $140,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
