Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Las Vegas, NV office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities include developing detailed roadway designs, performing feasibility studies, and coordinating with design teams, permitting authorities, and contractors to deliver successful projects on time and within budget. You will collaborate with other industry-leading professionals and work closely with jurisdictions and contractors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed roadway designs with the design team to meet local regulations and project specs.
• Assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for roadway infrastructure projects.
• Select appropriate materials and prepare specifications for road construction and maintenance projects.
• Create alignments and geometric designs for roads, intersections, and transportation facilities.
• Obtain permits and approvals from authorities for roadway projects, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Provide technical support during construction, including plan reviews and addressing design issues.
• Conduct inspections and quality control to ensure design standards are met.
• Incorporate environmental considerations such as stormwater management into roadway design.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors on diverse projects.
