Job summary

CDM Smith has an opening for a CEI inspector in Huntington, WV. The role inspects and monitors construction activities on project sites and performs complex inspections across multiple categories as defined (Roadway, Bridges, Drainage, Erosion & Control, Maintenance & Traffic).

The candidate will work under limited or direct supervision depending on demonstrated knowledge and assignment. Travel is possible, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performing both complex and routine/standard inspections of construction to evaluate if appropriate materials and construction processes are used; and that construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions.
• Uses higher grade of equipment and performs complex calculations to perform construction inspection.
• Works under limited supervision or direct supervision depending on the demonstrated knowledge for the assignment.
• Reviewing drawings to prepare for the construction inspection.
