Job summary

The Scruggs Company seeks an experienced estimator to develop cost estimates from conceptual designs through final contract documents for Georgia projects. You will assess site exposures and construction risks, reflecting costs accurately and identifying constructability issues for value engineering.

Responsibilities include performing takeoffs and contributing to all bid elements across project phases, with emphasis on GDOT road work and use of HCSS HeavyBid and Civil 3D tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing or related field and two years of estimating experience.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid and GDOT road construction estimating is required.
• Familiarity with road construction assemblies, submittals, and takeoffs is expected.

Responsibilities

• Produce estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings to final contract estimates.
• Assess site exposures and construction risks and reflect costs in the estimate.
• Identify constructability issues and value-engineering opportunities throughout the estimating process.
• Perform takeoffs and contribute to all aspects of producing successful estimates.
