Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Resident Maintenance Foreman to supervise foremen and crews performing roads and bridges maintenance in Dorchester County. You will organize crew schedules, safety training, and major activities including driveways, drainage, signage, and pavement markings, while guiding field investigations and data reporting.

Requires five years of related experience or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with Class A CDL to be obtained

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise foremen and crews in road/bridge maintenance and preservation tasks.
• Organize maintenance crew schedules and safety training; train in major activities such as driveways, signage, pavement markings, drainage, vegetation management, and more.
• Assist with investigation of field complaints and data reporting in the maintenance system.
• Manage material orders and ensure sufficient stock; monitor facility cleanliness and equipment storage areas.
• Oversee safety and compliance with monthly/quarterly/annual inspections and emergency operations.
