Job summary

Vibra Healthcare, LLC. seeks a seasoned Charge Nurse to lead the nursing team on the shift, assure safe patient assignments, assist with treatments, and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians. The Charge Nurse coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers, monitors staffing levels, manages supply and equipment, and leads in emergency situations to maintain high quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise the nursing staff on shift for Adult/Geriatric patients (18+)
• Ensure correct patient assignments and assist with treatments/medications as needed
• Delegate tasks to LPNs, aides and RNs; monitor completion and efficiency
• Conduct rounds, respond to emergencies, and document outcomes
• Coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers; monitor bed availability and staffing needs
• Manage supplies and equipment in collaboration with Central Supply and Materials
• Ensure up-to-date documentation, shift reports, and patient care plans
• Promote safety, compliance with policies, and participation in quality improvement initiatives
• Monitor telemetry and ensure alarms are addressed; check IV lines, tubing, and dressings
• Act as Team Leader during Code situations and perform required lab testing per procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of unit and patient rooms; ensure isolation precautions are posted
• Review and update policies in collaboration with therapy and other departments
• Attend unit meetings and participate in Performance Improvement activities
• Communicate with host hospital nursing supervisors regarding bed arrangements and dietary needs
• Demonstrate proficiency with Cerner, STAR, and Healthland systems
• Resolve Omnicell discrepancies and ensure completeness of required forms
