Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse in Virginia. This role provides total, patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborates with the healthcare team to improve outcomes in the designated clinical area.

The RN will participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and quality improvement activities, while supporting orientation of staff and policy adherence. BSN preferred; BLS required at hire.

Qualifications

• RN license with current state authorization.
• BSN preferred; ASN acceptable with experience.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and teamwork.
• Coordinate patient and family involvement and discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care with health team members.
• Assist leadership to define standards of excellence in patient care.
• Contribute to performance improvement and quality activities.
• Participate in orientation of new staff.
• Serve as a contact on policies and daily unit operations.
• Participate in committees shaping nursing practice.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
