Job summary

The University of California in Los Angeles seeks a seasoned perioperative RN/RNFA to provide advanced intraoperative care as circulating nurse, scrub, and first assistant as required. You will collaborate with surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to anticipate procedural needs and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, CNOR/RNFA credentials, and a California RN license, with a minimum of two years in complex procedures.

Qualifications

• California RN license required.
• BSN or MSN required.
• RNFA education/certification completed.
• CNOR certification.
• Minimum 2 years RNFA perioperative/OR experience in complex procedures.
• BLS certification from Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Ability to circulate, scrub, and first assist.
• Advanced knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy and aseptic technique.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during complex procedures.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and able to take required call.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to function independently in high acuity surgical environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced perioperative nursing care as circulating, scrub, and first assistant as appropriate.
• Collaborate with surgeons and the multidisciplinary surgical team to anticipate procedural needs.
• Provide advanced intraoperative assistance and promote safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Serve as a clinical resource for complex cases and mentor perioperative staff.
