Job summary

NW Natural in Portland, Oregon seeks an experienced Senior Risk Manager to lead insurance programs, risk management, claims, and financial risk activities. You will partner with executives across finance, operations, regulatory affairs, legal, treasury, and commercial teams to guide risk strategy and protect corporate value.

The role oversees property, casualty, cyber, and other coverages, develops risk reporting, supports governance and internal controls, and leads a team of risk professionals.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, insurance, finance, treasury, commodity risk management, or related fields.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, including coaching talent and driving continuous improvement.
• Experience managing commercial insurance programs and enterprise risk initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Direct the administration of corporate insurance programs, including property, casualty, cyber, environmental, workers’ compensation, directors and officers liability, automobile, and specialty coverages.
• Lead annual insurance renewals, underwriting presentations, broker strategy, and carrier negotiations.
• Monitor and analyze claims and loss trends and identify opportunities to reduce the company’s total cost of risk.
• Provide leadership and oversight of risk management, insurance, claims, and financial risk management programs and teams.
