Job summary

NW Natural seeks a Director of Environmental Services & Compliance to lead enterprise-wide environmental programs for gas and water operations. You will direct permitting strategies, monitor regulations, and collaborate with regulators, legal teams, and executive leadership to manage risk and ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a proven ability to influence policy and drive continuous improvement across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 7+ years in environmental compliance, permitting, regulatory affairs, or related fields.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing staff and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee enterprise-wide environmental compliance programs for gas and water operations.
• Lead environmental permitting strategies for infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with regulators and internal legal counsel on notices, enforcement, and permitting matters.
• Mentor environmental professionals and develop departmental objectives and budgets.
