Job summary

Berkley Small Business Solutions (a Berkley Company) seeks an Assistant Vice President, Risk Engineering to lead the national risk engineering strategy and a team of professionals. You will support underwriting decisions, portfolio management, and client value across technology clients.

You will develop innovative risk engineering services, engage with brokers, and represent the company in associations while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance nationwide.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in risk management, safety or risk engineering within a corporate environment.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, CFPS, ARM or equivalent are strongly preferred.
• Highly motivated, results-oriented with strong analytical and relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the national risk engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of risk engineers with performance management.
• Manage vendor relationships for risk engineering services.
• Serve as executive advisor to underwriting and leadership on technology risks.
• Oversee development of risk engineering services, tools, and client education content.
• Engage with brokers and insured leadership to strengthen strategic relationships.
• Represent Berkley Technology Underwriters in industry and thought leadership forums.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and scalability of risk engineering services nationwide.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support underwriting decisions and product development.
• Develop client education content on technology risk engineering including white papers and panels.
• Oversee risk engineering efforts within key account management.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with statutory loss control provisions across states.
