Job summary

Berkley Technology Underwriters seeks an Assistant Vice President, Risk Engineering to lead the national risk engineering strategy and guide executive-level risk decisions for technology clients.

You will manage a team of risk engineers, partner with underwriting, claims, legal and marketing, and drive innovative services, tools and client education content while ensuring compliance and strong broker relationships.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in risk management, safety, risk engineering, or related disciplines within a corporate environment.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, CFPS, ARM, or equivalent credentials are strongly preferred.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented with analytical, influencing, relationship management, and business development skills.
• Experience in technology or property & casualty insurance industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the national risk engineering strategy aligned with Berkley Technology Underwriters’ objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of risk engineering professionals with performance management.
• Manage relationships with vendors supplying risk engineering services.
• Serve as executive advisor to underwriting and leadership on emerging risks in the technology sector.
• Oversee development of innovative risk engineering services, tools, and client education content.
• Engage with brokers and insured leadership to strengthen strategic relationships.
• Represent Berkley Technology Underwriters in industry and broker associations and thought leadership forums.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and scalability of risk engineering services nationally.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support underwriting decisions, new product development, and portfolio management.
• Develop client service education content (white papers, panels, and e-tools).
• Oversee risk engineering efforts within key account management and regulatory compliance.
• May perform other functions as assigned.
